J.P. Boyce on regeneration without faith

God-hater Curt Daniel writes this about J.P. Boyce (under the heading of "Southern Baptist Calvinism"):

"James Pettigru Boyce (1827-1888). SBC President, founder and first President of Southern Baptist Seminary. His Abstract of Systematic Theology rivalled [sic] Dagg's as the leading SBC official textbook on theology." (Curt Daniel, The History and Theology of Calvinism, p. 128)

J.P. Boyce "On regeneration and conversion" as they relate to infants:

"Regeneration (as in infants) may exist without faith and repentance, but the latter cannot exist without the former. Therefore, regeneration precedes." (J.P. Boyce, Abstract of Systematic Theology, Chapter 32 Regeneration and Conversion)

Boyce is yet another Calvinist who denies that the gospel is the power of God to salvation to everyone believing by making exceptions to the Romans 1:16 rule in the case of infants:

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is [the] power of God to salvation to everyone believing, both to Jew first, and to Greek; for in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; even as it has been written, But the just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:16-17)
